OUR HISTORY

In West Hollywood, CA (located in the Greater Los Angeles Area) on February 5, 2014, West Hollywood Elite Cheer and Entertainment Squad was comprised of six dedicated members with performance background, met with the intent on creating a unique way of giving back to the community.

At the end of our first meeting, we had established our name and voted on three officer positions to move forward: President, Secretary, and Choreographer.  By March 2014, we had grown to nine members, selected our own uniforms, and participated in our first event - World Book Day.  By April 2014, Led by Derrick Washington, we had crafted a collection of cheers and dances and established our first fundraising drive at M Bar (Hollywood, CA).  Within seven months we had applied and became an Incorporated Non-Profit Association.  We strive to include people from all backgrounds, both inside and outside the LGBTQ community.

We are a Los Angeles-based philanthropic organization rapidly working towards becoming something extraordinary by using entertainment as a fundraising platform, both inside and outside of the LGBTQ community. To date, we have donated time and raised over $10,000.00 in funds to support non-profits and numerous public events inside and outside of the Los Angeles area and LGBTQ communities.

We are currently comprised of eight cheerleaders, three board members, and many more friends, family, and volunteers.  Although we are a work in progress, we have a lot of fun as we perform and give back to the community.  We are doing what we set out to accomplish!

Our mission is to establish a cheerleading entertainment group of broad inclusion both inside and outside of the LGBTQ community.
